Yellow Bus Transportation
Miraj Islamic School partners with the NYC Office of Pupil Transportation (OPT) to provide eligible students free, safe and reliable transportation services. To be eligible to take a yellow bus, students must be over the age of five and not yet in high school. Bus stops are designated each year based on student population distribution.
Yellow buses operate primarily during full school days and pre-determined early dismissals. Please note that the schedule may vary. Real-time updates on yellow bus delays can be found here.
To locate a nearby stop, please see the interactive map below. Users can toggle between bus routes by selecting the sidebar icon on the upper left-hand corner and checking or unchecking the appropriate routes (i.e. morning or afternoon). Selecting a pin will display the expected pick-up or drop-off time.
For additional information, please call or visit our main office to speak with our Transportation Coordinator.

For students who are not eligible for free yellow bus service, Miraj Islamic School provides Student OMNY cards at no cost.
OMNY cards are:
- Distributed exclusively by a school: Student OMNY cards cannot be received from the MTA.
- Good for four free rides each day: Take up to four free trips every day of the week, any time of the day. This includes a free transfer between the subway and local, limited, and Select bus service, or a free transfer between buses.
- Valid all year long: A Student OMNY card doesn’t expire until the next school year.
