College Readiness
At Miraj Islamic School, we believe that college readiness is not just about preparing for exams, but about fostering a lifelong love of learning and equipping students with the academic and critical thinking skills they need to thrive in higher education and beyond.
We are committed to providing our students with the resources and support they need not only to be accepted into colleges but also to thrive in their academic pursuits. As such, we are proud that 100% of our high school seniors are accepted to and attend college.
Our students begin their college readiness journey early in their academic careers:
- Rigorous Curriculum: We offer a challenging academic program that emphasizes critical thinking, problem-solving, and independent study. Many students participate in Honors courses beginning in the eighth grade, and we encourage exploration through Advanced Placement (AP) options in their junior and senior years.
- College-Level Courses: In partnership with St. John's University, we offer unique opportunities for our high school students to earn college credit while still in high school, giving them a head start on their college journeys.
- Career Exploration: In their junior year, our students embark on a career development course that helps them explore potential career paths and identify colleges that align with their interests and aspirations.
- Individualized College Guidance: During their senior year, students receive personalized college guidance from dedicated advisors. We guide them through every step of the application process, including essay writing, college selection, and navigating financial aid options.
We are dedicated to guiding our students towards a bright future. Ultimately, our goal is to empower students to explore their options and support them in confidently making their college choices.
